2023 ASM to investigate solutions to ED pressures
Leaders of emergency medicine, patients, elite athletes, international aid coordinators, and military experts will come together in Canberra next week for ACEM’s 38th Annual Scientific Meeting.
With the theme of ACTion under pressure, this year’s Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), which runs from 19 to 23 November 2023, aims to find solutions to the pressures emergency department staff face every day.
Topics to be covered in keynote speeches include artificial intelligence, adventure-informed emergency medicine, the provision of care in the time of war, and narrative medicine, with speakers travelling from near and far to present.
ACEM ASM 2023 Chair, Dr Shakeeb Bani Yaseen said, “As emergency physicians, we perform our daily work in an extremely high-pressure environment. This is why our theme for the Annual Scientific Meeting in 2023 is ACTion Under Pressure.”
Each weekday of the ASM is focussed on one theme: systems under pressure, people under pressure, practice under pressure then knowledge under pressure. The innovative program of meetings, workshops and social events aims to inspire, provoke, and unite.
Dr Bani Yaseen said, “How can you adapt, survive, and thrive in an increasingly busy world? There’s only one way to find out. We look forward to seeing you in Canberra for ACTion Under Pressure.”
The 2023 ACEM ASM will be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, ACT, from the 19th to the 23rd of November. The program can be viewed here. Media enquiries should be directed to +61 427 621 857 or melissa.howard@acem.org.au.
